Seth Doege: The Texas Tech QB could be on his way to joining the elite passers before him as he completed a whopping 90% of his passes on Saturday against New Mexico. Doege went 40 for 44 with 401 yards and 5 touchdowns as the Red Raiders creamed the Lobos 59-13 after yet another weather delay.
Notre Dame: After two straight loses, including a heart breaker to Michigan last week, the Irish finally notched their first win against #13 Michigan State in South Bend. The upset prevents Notre Dame from dropping to a miserable 0-3 and showed that Brian Kelly could salvage the season. Notre Dame held State to 29 yards rushing and capitalized off of Spartan mistakes, leading to the 31-13 victory.
Clemson: After what should have been a 0-2 start for #21 Auburn, Clemson finally put the nations longest winning streak to rest in Death Valley with a 38-24 win. The Auburn defense, which allowed over 30 points in their first two games, gave up 38 points to Clemson, including 21 in the second quarter alone. The star of the game for Clemson was freshman wideout Sammy Watkins, who burned Auburn for 155 receiving yards and two scores.
Wyoming Special Teams: Probably one of the best finishes of the year took place in Bowling Green, Ohio between Bowling Green and Wyoming. Bowling Green scored a touchdown with three seconds left in the game to make the score 28-27, needing only an extra point to force overtime. However, the Wyoming Cowboys special teams came through and blocked the PAT to hold on and win.
